Of course, there are numerous charities in Denver — so where do you begin?
We’ve narrowed down your search to just five. In no particular order, here are five charities that embody restoration, resilience, and renewal.
Open Door Ministries
Open Door Ministries is a Christ-centered non-profit committed to addressing some of Denver’s most urgent challenges: homelessness, addiction, and poverty. It offers programs that equip individuals with the tools and resources they need to build stable, fulfilling lives.
Through transitional housing, recovery programs, and vocational training, Open Door Ministries provides more than just services — they offer a pathway to dignity and independence. The organization’s emphasis on building supportive, long-term relationships ensures that each individual man, woman, and child feels seen, valued, and empowered to move forward.
Providence Network
Providence Network is a faith-based organization that provides transitional housing (for both men and women) and a supportive, tight-knit community where people can begin to heal and rediscover their sense of purpose.
This organization understands that recovery isn’t only about meeting physical needs. By addressing emotional and spiritual well-being, it creates an environment where growth and transformation can flourish. Its work reflects the values of love, compassion, and hope, making it an indispensable part of Denver’s nonprofit community.
This approach to holistic care reminds us that healing takes time, trust, and the right support. Providence Network continues to inspire us with its dedication to creating safe spaces where individuals can thrive.
Re-Fined
At Re-Fined, our mission is rooted in restoring wholeness and fostering healing for individuals overcoming the impacts of exploitation. Addiction often intersects with exploitation, serving as both a means of control and a way of coping with trauma. We focus on providing comprehensive care that addresses physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
Our programs and services are designed to provide immediate, consistent, long-term support. We uniquely partner with other organizations through our court support and partnering stabilization homes to better serve and meet the needs of women coming out of exploitation, allowing us to truly partner with women at all stages of recovery. These relationships create a foundation for individuals to rebuild their lives and rediscover their God-given worth and potential. But what truly sets us apart is our emphasis on restorative relationships — those built on trust, respect, and understanding.
Raising awareness about the issue of exploitation is a core component of our mission. This often-hidden issue requires education and training to equip individuals to recognize the signs, understand its complexities, and respond effectively. By shedding light on this pervasive problem, we aim to create a community that protects the vulnerable and upholds the dignity of all. Learn more or sign up for an upcoming session here.
